Man who beheads Father says his troubles are over

Tragedy seems not to abate in the country, for each day produces stories that ache the heart. From one part of the country to another, mayhem is spelt in very legible letters. 
In Abakiliki, a middle-aged man, identified as John has been arrested by the Ebonyi State Police Command for beheading his 90-year-old father.


John was said to have killed his father for being the cause of his misfortune in life.


He said he decided to kill his father after he discovered that the deceased had make him not to progress in whatever he does.


He later took the severed head of his father to the village’s playground celebrating that his problem was over.


The state acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Stephen Okwundu, who confirmed the incident, said it took the efforts of youths of the area who mobilized themselves to disarm and arrest the suspect, who was later handed over to the police.
